Funding
Petra Wendler is supported by the Emmy Noether Program, which promotes young researchers in achieving independence at an early stage of their scientific careers. During a DFG funded period, usually lasting five years, they lead their own Independent Junior Research Group and get the opportunity to rapidly qualify for a leading position in science and research. The Emmy Noether Program aims to recruit outstanding postdocs working abroad back to Germany and those accepted into the program have passed a rigorous selection process. 330 Research Groups have been funded between 1999 when the program was introduced and 2006. The DFG grants up to 1 Million Euro for each Emmy Noether Group.
